In May of 2020, childhood best friends and certified fangirls Carter and Erica started a pandemic podcast project with the goal of discussing, overanalyzng, and generally fangirling about each Percy Jackson book in three parts. This pod was to be called Seaweed Brain and it was fated to answer the question, is Percabeth the greatest love story ever told?
Over the next three years, Carter and Erica would journey across the Riordanverse, covering almost every single book Rick Riordan has ever written (lookin at you Kane Chronicles) in preparation to discuss the Disney+ adaptation. Through finishing college, beginning grad school, moving cities, multiple strikes, and more, they finally reached December 2023, and were invited to the world premiere of Percy Jackson & The Olympians at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC!
They went on to create ridiculously in depth analysis episodes for each epsiode of Season 1, interview the cast and creatives, and even ask Rick, Becky, Aryan. Walker, and Leah if Percabeth is the greatest love story ever told!!! The answer? You’ll have to listen to find out.
